About me

I am an internationally trained paediatric orthopaedic surgeon. I specialise in paediatric and adolescent orthopaedics, axis correction, limb lengthening, and also congenital and acquired defects.
In addition to my experience at the Vienna Orthopedic Hospital where the Ilizarov method of bone lengthening has been applied since the 1980s, I was able to attend the prestigious International Center for Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction in Baltimore, USA and the Ilizarov Center in Kurgan, Russia to expand my knowledge. I am a lecturer on this topic at annual conferences in Baltimore and Vienna and at the Taylor Spatial Frame Visiting Surgeon Program (VSP) at the Speising Orthopedic Hospital, where surgeons from all over the world are trained. Since 2013, I have been performing leg lengthening with the new Precice system and teaching colleagues this surgical technique.
Since 1999, I have had experience with the Ponseti method for clubfoot treatment and have trained with Dr. Ponseti personally. In 2002, I was able to implement the Ponseti method at the Orthopaedic Hospital Speising, with the support of the Executive Board.
Because of my scientific and clinical experience, I am a lecturer at various paediatric orthopaedic symposia and courses worldwide. I published multiple scientific articles and I am a reviewer for medical journals.
